Capturing History: Love and Adventure Photography Wins AHC Preservation Month Photo Contest

Love and Adventure Photography, led by myself, Leo Phillip, has once again left its mark in the realm of capturing history through the lens. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for preserving the past, my recent triumph in the AHC Preservation Month: Places with a Purpose photo contest is a testament to my dedication and skill.

In 2023, my captivating photograph stood out among the entries, earning me the prestigious accolade from the Alabama Historical Commission (AHC). This win not only celebrates my artistic prowess but also underscores the importance of documenting and safeguarding our heritage.

The Alabama Historical Commission plays a vital role in this endeavor, serving as the guardian of the state's rich historical tapestry. Established in 1966, the AHC is tasked with identifying, evaluating, and preserving Alabama's historic resources. From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, the commission works tirelessly to ensure that these sites are protected for future generations to appreciate and learn from.

Through various initiatives such as Preservation Month, the AHC aims to raise awareness about the importance of historic preservation and highlight the significance of these places with a purpose. My winning photograph not only captures the essence of these sites but also serves as a poignant reminder of the beauty and significance embedded in Alabama's history.

As Love and Adventure Photography continues to showcase the beauty of the past through my lens, we are reminded of the power of photography to transcend time and connect us with our heritage. I am so grateful to do what I love and I only hope my work continues to inspire others to cherish and preserve the treasures of our past.
