Conjured by a Fallen Soul

Sitting beneath the moonlight’s gaze

Infrequently, on most evenings

They could hear his tireless whispers, before falling silent.

Sometimes, he wishes things were simple

As the simplicity of a smile

Obscuring the internal flames

Sometimes, he finds himself drifting more profoundly into the void of sadness

Sometimes, he decides not to.

Avoiding malevolent glares

His forsaken heart is still beating.

He finds comfort in the darkness

Not ever so bright

Or uninspiring.

It is shrouded, by the haze of pain.

He is faithless,

He is alone and broken.

His foundation beneath him is crumbling

He cannot escape

His light is dimming

Just as an ill-fated firefly

Once ever so bright

Unlike many, that have ever seen

Nevertheless, the fire fades away

Versed in succumbing to his demise

His omniscient truth may seem abstruse to everyone

His actions will need no explanation

Considering it could have only been conjured by a fallen soul.
